Hello friend. My name is Michael Hardy.
In 1999, I began providing German-English translation services in Berlin, Germany. It was an exciting time during the dot.com boom. Startups abounded, and all those new German companies needed virtually everything translated into English.
Before relocating to Berlin, I had completed an MA in German linguistics. After deciding not to pursue a career in academia, I assumed I would never directly apply my skill set as a linguist again.
I subsequently moved to Berlin and began working as a translator. As it turns out, graduate school served as excellent preparation for working as a professional translator. German-English translations were in extremely high demand at that time, and I had an opportunity to work on a vast array of different projects.
In 2005, I moved business operations to Austin, Texas and continued to my serve my translation clients from this new sunny headquarters.
In 2007, we launched a niche service: German search engine optimization (SEO). After numerous successful online campaigns targeting German internet consumers, we began offering the same search optimization services for English-language markets.
It soon became clear that effective website optimization and online marketing require a certain level of IT expertise. We subsequently expanded our palette to include webmaster services and now offer a comprehensive spectrum of website management and online optimization support for both English and German markets.
Professional German-English translation remains a pillar of Hardy International. In fact, we provide both website management and document translation services for many of our clients.
