Here’s a little about me, the founder and leader of Hardy International LLC – my little (but mighty!) web development and language services company in Austin, Texas.
In 1999, I started working as a freelance German-English translator in Berlin. I found out I was good at it and spent thousands of hours perfecting the skill and art of translation. It became my career, and in the early 2000s, I began operating as a translation agency, servicing virtually all common language combinations.
I’ve had a strong interested in the internet and digital media since their very inception. A business partner and I tried to start an online English-language newspaper for Berlin back in 2000. Didn’t work, but we learned a lot. Since then, the idea of coupling translation with multilingual SEO and webmaster services has been something I thought was a natural business alliance.
I spent nearly a decade in Germany, including six years in the magical city of Berlin. Hardy International relocated to Austin, Texas in 2005. Since relocating to the US, we (I’m no longer alone!) have expanded our range of services to include comprehensive webmaster and SEO services, in addition to the premium German-English translation services the company was built on.
My educational background includes a BA in English and an MA in German Linguistics. I started building websites and blogs as a hobby back in the early 2000s. Through personal curiosity and repeated requests from clients, our business has grown organically from solely a translation agency into a comprehensive language services and web development company – with specialties in multilingual SEO and WordPress development.
My business philosophy is in accordance with the ideas of Seth Godin, Guy Kawasaki, Derek Sivers, and many others of the 21st century entrepreneurial tradition:
